Ok, I took the plunge and reinstalled XP.

Deleted the old Dell utilities partition and the old XP partition, and did clean install.

Everything worked fine, nearly got everything i need reinstalled done.

However, there is 1 really annoying thing happening. When i boot the machine, it now gives me the option of booting to 2 Win XP Home Edition systems at startup. The first one in the list works fine, when i tried the 2nd one out of curiosity it didn't work.

Is there any way i can get automatically use the correct version of XP without having to go through this selection process?. Its spoiling an otherwise lovely clean system on me!!! :(

    Thanks!

    start > run > msconfig

    boot.ini

    check all.

it will then say something like "boot 2 is invalid, would you like to remove?"
click ok and youll get straight to xp.
