Okay I have a choice of the following graphics cards which are all AGP.

XFX GeForce 6800 128MB DDR 2*DVI AGP8X, Extreme Gamers Ed., Retail

Gainward GeForce 6600GT 128MB GDDR3 GLH AGP8X,"Golden Sample Goes Like Hell"

    XFX GeForce 6600GT 256MB GDDR3 AGP8X, Tv-Out, Dual-DVI, Retail

At the moment im thinking the 6800 (12 pipelines), but the Gainward 6600gt has crazy specs for mem clock speed (1.5 ghz).

If anyone has these cards or have mates who have them please get back to me. Thanks

I would definetly go for the 6800 Vanilla... Yes i know its memory is ordinary DDR, BUT... compared to the 6600GT's 8Pipe core.. Theres no chance the 6600GT can be better.. So the 6800 Will do a better job of playing games and give you a boost in the FPS... Also a 6600GT Very OC'ed With its nice Mem might get close to the 6800... But thats only when very OC'ed... Think what the 6800 Can do if that's OC'ed.

Also if you go for the 6800 GT is most likely flashable to 6800GT, BUT you won't need match the performance of a 6800GT as your 6800 Memory will be DDR as opposed to the 6800GT's memory is GDDR3, Much faster.

Anyway, IMO go for the 12Pipe 6800, These day's you need the extra pipe line's.

I'd agree with the 6800, I just unlocked mine recently to get a nice boost. Different makes seem to have different success rates with unlocking though so have a look around before deciding which one to get. Also some of them come with with better coolers than others which is handy if you want to overclock.

    Thanks for your help guys,

Im ordering the card tonight so I think i'll get the 6800 which i can thinker with at a later stage. I thought most people were goin to advise me to buy the 660gt 256! or the 6600gt glh. Also to people that have any of the cards what is the power of your P.S.U?

BTW, Should I get a cheap ati radeon x800SE instead of all these?

I have the XFX 6600gt. Very stable card and plays all newer games without problems. Only downside is a slightly noisey fan.

    :D
