    Hi,

I intend spending about 350e on a monitor and 250e on a GPU. I have a couple of 19" TFT's in mind. The Samsung 19" 913N and the BENQ T905 19". Im aware of the other threads concerning this matter, but what i really want to ask is should i spend less on a monitor and get a good graph card? I dont have any PCI-Express slots ( mobo = ABIT 1S7-E2 ), so ill need to get an AGP one which puts some limits on my options. I hope this isnt confusing. I was thinkin of the gainward 6600 gt or a more expensive 6800. Its a bit head wrekcin so any suggestion would help.

    Thanks

Depends on what you want to do with it.

I don't play games, therefore I'd definately pump what I could into getting an Ultrasharp Hi Res LCD flat panel.

If I was gaming, I'd probably skip LCD altogether and go CRT, invest in the GPU; but with 8ms LCD screens around these days I'm not sure :)

I play a lot of games. There is a big enough price difference between the 2 monitors i have mentioned. around 60e. The difference between the 2 monitors is also non-existant ( to my not so extensive knowledge ). Both have good refresh rates for games ( 8ns ). However the difference between a gaphics card for 250 and 300 is fairly big. I think ill get the cheaper monitor, hmm maybe not. Im only worried about the brand name and stuff really since they have the same spec and get good reviews on Tom's Hardware. Thanks for your replies btw. Startin to get tired lookin at these feckin monitors!

Forget the monitor unless it's essential, upgrade to a PCI-E motherboard and graphics card. If you get an AGP card you're gonna be stuck with a non-PCI-E board for the next year or two. Unless you don't mind wasting money.
