I have only been using this forum for maybe two weeks and I am addicted...its just great, my posts are far from the best posts in the world and so on and so on.....BUT. One complaint I have is this, and I am sure i speak for the multitude.....there is nothing more annoying or boring than a post that simply copies a load of jargon from the Hand History of a poker site, it is bland, boring...unimaginative...pure crap. I am all for tales of bad beats, or hands that were won with the most perfect trap etc etc, but for christ sake, copying and pasting Hand Histories.....GET A FLIPPIN LIFE PEOPLE, use that poker brain that Jebus provided you with....am i right?????

I agree. I like reading bad beats but I hate having to pick through a load of Sh1te to understand it.

I just dont read any posts that have copied from Hand History

I fully agree! it can be tedious and boring reading hand history and tbh i give up half way thru most of them, but i suppose it's easier for the lazy poster. Also, some people tend to leave out important info like position, stack sizes which the hand history includes. S'pose it's a trade off..

right nicky and hj, do your stuff

edit: sry... spelt nicky wrong.. how, i don't know

I much prefer to read hand histories. People have a habit of leaving out essential info, and a hand history means they cant.

ditto. I don't see what the problem is.

If you're not going to read the hand history then you can't give a proper answer to someone's question about the scenario.

as someone who occasionally writes about bad beats I prefer to read prose then a copied hand history with OMFG HOW DID HE CALL appended to the end of it. On the other hand, I take Hectors point that its good to see all the details. preferably both should feature but if not I'd rather an explanation of the thought processes and feelings rather then bland hand history text.

everybody should be using the hand converter on the following site:

    http://www.selachian.com/tools/bisonconverter/hhconverter.cgi

it still produces a hand history, contains all the details.... but makes it a bit more readable and also hides the names etc (just showing hero... and villian etc if needed)..... much better than just posting the pokersites hand history. so just use this and put in your own description of the situation as well.....

ps: there is a bug there at the moment, and for partypoker 6 handed cash games you have to remove the Texas from the 'Texas hold'em' in the header of your handhistory. - not sure if this applies in other areas also.

Absolutely spot on. Drives me bananas, blah blah blah, how could he call, blah blah blah, Squirrell Face, Monkey Breath, or whatever wins $7.65 from main pot. Maybe its just that i prefer going into a real place and playing cards with other people, where you can talk to them, after you disarm their ipods, sunglasses, baseball hats, hoodies (I think I look sooooh cool but i look like an enourmous ET) Actually was in the Fitz last week and I reckon they should have a prize for the most stupid looking sunglasses. There was a guy wearing a pair of glasses and he looked like he just stepped out of a bomb testing facility. They were huge. Anyway you can't beat live tournaments.

I saw a lad there during the festival playing the all Holdem with a huge pair of sunglasses that made him look like a fly or something, real stupid looking things. He must be a contender for said prize. Shocking player as well I heard. Obv they didn't work very well. There is an excellent article by Lederer on FullTilt on why it is harmful to your game to wear sunnies and listen to music while you play due to the information you can miss out on. Have a stupid firewall here in work so can't post it, maybe one of you techies can go find it and post it here on this thread. First one to find it and post it wins a copy of Poker Player Ireland :p

    I wear sunglasses because:

A: I give away too much info through my eyes.
B: I like to look at peoples faces without them knowing :E
C: It seems to annoy some people :p

    I wear sunglasses when:

A: Its a really sunny day.
B: Its a sunny day with cloudy spells
C: When i go to the free 'all you can eat' buffet for the blind...

let me know when this is on next.
i only wear sun glasses when its very sunny and im driving so i can look at the women longer than acceptible if not wearing sunglasses. i wouldnt even have the nerve to wear them if i was walking or anything as that would be too much for me. another thing is that pale blokes cant really wear sun glasses and get away with it in the same way as white blokes wearing basketball gear. in a funny kinda way i give these guys credit for having the nerve to wear sun glasses in the first place. for me its the same sort of nerve as chewing gum in a job interview.

the bison bison converter works fine for Party Poker, and it makes your posts look alot better.

Like this one http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=249547&highlight=omaha but unfortunately nobody was in an Omaha mood that day :(

It's been a bit flaky since Party changed their format last month.

I like the hand histories, lets you know exactly what happened. It's like video evidence of an incident in a soccer match. Show the exact incident/hand exactly as it happened and then give your comment or interpretation of it.

im full of crap really. i over exagerate and rarely feel as strongly about a subject as it might appear. i dont really mean it as strong as it sounds.
im glad to say ive never crashed yet. im quite the pro for looking without being caught unlike the country lads i know!. country lads in dublin havent quite mastered the art of looking without acting like rabid dogs. they dont even care if they get busted which is another thing i envy.
