Bin Laden and Saddam Hussain too violent for Punch & Judy!

    I love this story.
    A Punch and Judy man has been banned from using Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden puppets in his Kent seaside show.

    Thanet council told Brent Witts to take the characters out of his routine at Viking Bay, Broadstairs, after complaints from members of the public.

    "It was topical - it was a bit of fun, but someone did not care for that," said Mr Witts who cast Saddam and Bin Laden as the show's bogeymen.

    Council officials said they received complaints from concerned parents.

    Its not like Punch and Judy is exactly clean living as seaside entertainments go.

    I don't really 'get' Punch&Judy. Does anyone in this country? for that matter? There's definetly a lot of cultural crossover between ourselves and our cousins from across the water but P+J seems to have been lost somewhere in the translation.

    So is this Osama thing the kind of news that could scar a generation of young Britains for years to come?
