Went down to Ballinlough to Liam_B and the lads at Base BJJ last night for my first session and loved it.

I thought I was passably fit before last night but now I know. I even had a little dry retching session. The training was excellent, the lads were all sound and it didn't take long to relax into it.

It is addictive alright as I have heard a few people on here say, I'm already looking forward to next week. If I can cut down on the puking I'll consider that good progress.

    Cheers Lads

That cardio wasnt tough, was a walk in the park, sure i barely broke a sweat ;) I think i actually lost about half a stone in water weight last night, i couldnt stand in any spot too long or i might have drowned.

Ken, you did really well for your first class, i was on you left during the cardio and we did a few drills then together, a few more classes and you'll be well able

    I hope so lol.

Thanks for taking the time to go through those drills with me Andrew. I've upped my own home training regime to try to get a little more up to speed for next week. I just have to keep telling myself "Whatever doesn't kill me will serve to make me stronger".

I wonder if Nietchze ever tried tabatas.......

    No prob ken,

As for a fitness regime, ive been mixing and matching exercises for ages to see what works best for me. At the moment i do:

Thai boxing(best cardio on the planet)
    Running(great for toning up)
Cycling(leg strenght + burn 1000 calories an hour)
Press ups, sit ups, squats(basic strenght)
    Tabatas(great for puking)

I find it good to have aload of different routines, as im murder for getting bored.

    Cycling, 1000 calories an hour?
I think you best check your fitness guide again there..

Im not a professional cyclist, but as far as i know im right. An average size guy 185-195lb burns roughly 1000 calories per hour of cycling, and by cycling i dont mean a leisurely ride in the countryside, On a racer and not dropping below 15mph for the duration of the trip.

I did 37miles in 2 hours last week, carrigaline-bandon-carrigaline. I dont have a calorie counter but ill see if i can pick one up, just to test it.

    Sure check it out here:
