Premier poker- (midlands area) Warning

This crew are having tourneys around the midlands,so far that I know of the Gandon portlaoise, County arms birr. somewhere in tullamore, Grants hotel Roscrea.
They are IMHo ripoff merchants, Last week in birr took in Min of 4500/5000 paid out €1250, 5th place was €50/€60. state that only 2 buy backs but that not the case 4/5 was common.
Basically out to clean up. They have been running in Portlaoise for a while now.

I think I know the guys you are talking about. Do they wear red t-shirts. Is it 20 euros in and 20 euros rebuys/top-ups. They also do Kilkenny and Carlow. I was told they take a third of the entry fees if it is the same guys. The problem is when its the only game around muppets like me will enter. I finished third in Kilkenny of ninety players, spending eighty euros and wining 200 euros.

Those guys should be prosecuted or at the least shamed in the newspapers. I'll mention it to Ken Powell he used to work for the Star. Fuucking disgraceful.

Please make sure you know exactly whom you're having a go at here, the guys who run the main poker tournaments around Carlow and Kilkenny and now run them elsewhere are most certainly not rip off merchants, and they have moaned to me that they may be confused with some crowd who are genuinely rip off merchants. All I'm saying is that I know the Carlow / Kilkenny guys, I got them to start running poker tournaments because they had a great track record at running collectible card tournaments, and they do an excellant job. Please just be very specific about who the shisters are, use a name they go under if possible.

It's not like this is anything new, nor is it just one group of people. Two groups are raping 30% of prizepools in Limerick. I heard of a tourney in Tallaght that raped over 50% and its not just isolated to $20 pub tournaments either. How likely is it that these tournaments will be regulated any time soon? These bastards will continue to rape prizepools for as much as and as long as they can get away with. The only way to stop it is for people to stop going and since about half the pub tournament players in this country have about as much financial sense as Mary Harney things are likely to get worse before they get better.

How does someone get $200 for 3rd in a $30 rebuy with 90 players? That's horrific!

Point taken. I did say IF in relation to the original post though. They do a very good job at running a tournament, but, I still think getting €200 for finishing third after investing €80 isn't good enough.

2nd 400
3rd 200
4th 150
5th 100
6th-10th 80
Total: 2,250

it was a €20 entry with €80 the maximum a player can spend in total with the rebuys and entry fee. There was about 90 runners.
