Spotted that they've taken down the ped bridges at UCD and RTE. Are they just replacing/renewing them or is it part of some other scheme to widen or modify the bus lane?

Thought as much. Are they putting back up the same bridges or new ones?

    From the AA website:

Maintenance work has started on five pedestrian bridges on the N11 until Friday, 9th Sep
They are located between Cabinteely and Donnybrook. RTE/Montrose footbridge at Belfield is closed until 29th August. Seafield Road footbridge at Mount Merrion is closed until 29th Aug. The three other bridges, Cornelscourt footbridge at Clonkeen Road, Johnstown Road footbridge at Cabinteely and Foxrock Church footbridge, will be closed for short periods over the coming weeks to replace the deck surfaces. Reduced speed limits of 50km/h will apply until 16th September at both Johnstown Road in Cabinteely to Knocksinna in Foxrock, and from Fosters Avenue in Mount Merrion to Ailesbury Road in Donnybrook. Some lane closures on the N11 will be required, however most closures will occur during off-peak hours, from 10am to 4pm and at night.

There's a temporary green man crossing outside UCD. I thought that was nice, you don't always see builders taking disruption into account.

I wldnt think the builders went out and did that off their own bat, im sure it was a requirement of the contract or DLRD put it in

They seem to have forgotten the one at the bottom of The Rise in Mount Merrion. Signs on the N11 approaching it state that it will be worked on from midnight to 6am on 28th August.

Some of those bridges are fairly old now and this work will be good. There is an increasing population in those areas and the road is busier so safe and sturdy crossings are needed.

The central over-road section of this bridge was replaced only a few years ago when the junction was changed to have give a turning lane from northbound side going right into St Helens/Radisson hotel. The work required is likely only on the ramps/stairs which remain from the original bridge, but we shall see.

That way gurriers can drop stuff on pedestrians.

The cages used by South Dublin County Council would appear to be successful.
