Anyone know anything about getting some sponsored booze for an event? Who do you approach, how do you approach them etc?

Any companies that are noted for their generosity in this matter?

I need it for an event with approx 30-50 people!
    Thanks

Dont know if this is the right answer but here goes, I asked my dad and he said to get sponsers for an event, you will need a permit from your garda station, and a licence to actually have alcohol at this event.. then when you have your permit, you can show it to a publician or whatever, and they might donate..
Hope taht is what you asked.

You don't require a licence if the event is on private property and the alcohol isn't being sold afaik.

Thanks guys. It will be held on private property and the drink will not be sold, just given out for free.

Ok but i think you will still need your permit to get spponsered.. good luck with it.

Used to do this all the time in college, but the breweries changed their attitudes around 4/5 years ago as drinking issues kept hitting the front pages.
I doubt they'll give away for free, unless you ask them for cash and then you subsidise the booze even further.
It'll probably depend on the event / age group... and what you can give them in return (logo placements / promotions etc..)

Whiskeyman, could you recommend some places to ask? It wont be a college-type event, age groups will vary. I have the facility of providing sponsor with decent promotional coverage, so hopefully someone will be interested. I dont have much time to sort it though, thats the only thing.

    just dropped ya a PM.
I guess you could try the sponsorship department in breweries, but they may need more time to think about it.
You could by-pass them and ask a local pub / off licence to sponsor you. Possibility of booze there...
Or just get financial sponsorship off any firm, and buy the booze yourself :)
Just make your approach as professional as possible. Try and think that you are the person giving you the money / booze. What are you going to get in return, and do you really care about my investment?

    good luck :)
