ok, i've got a monthly dd for concern, got stopped by one of those heads on the street.

i'm not sure how much of this actualy goes to the right people, i understand concern is a business.

what would be a better charity, goal?

also, regading concern, i'm a bit sick of being aproached by them on the street, i just tell them i'm already signed up, got a bit of attitude from one as5hole.

You could do worse than give to the Marie keating foundation.
I know its run by Ronan keating - but it has helped so many Irish women.

How about the Christian Association for the Sick and Homeless?

Just make the cheque out to CASH and I'll see that it gets to them.

How about the ISCNOPCS, they constantly need donations to keep above the bread line.

ok, this really is a super charity, but does anyone else feel they are getting over and above other charties, and it has a tag for being an "it" charity?
Ok, dont flame me here... I mean this seriously. (I've done work for them myself in the past).
They created a super brand name and great awareness of what they do. So many corporate events are held in their name, and I here so many people running marathons etc... for Barretstown. And many just say, "yah, I'm doing it for Barretstown", nearly not knowing what the charity is.

There's just so many needy causes out there....

Oh yes.. They do some interesting initiatives too... like looking for old print cartridges and bus tickets with unclaimed money on them.

I seen a guy on the Late Late a while ago who sold his e-business for 400m euro, so he set up a charity, and i cant for the life of me remember the name. But basically he used some of his money to set it up, then invested the rest and the money he makes off investments covers the running cost of the charity, so if you donate 50 quid then 50 quid gets to where its going. They work in africa and ireland, basically anywhere theyre needed. What impressed me a lot was that it showed pictures of this multimillionaire out helping in Africa and all, not cheesy photoshoots either. So yeah, great guy. He also donated 2.5 million to the tsunami thing too. Forget the name completely though. Have a dream foundation or something
