I have a microsoft word document that i put a password on it about a year ago and i forget what it is.

Is there anyway of opening this document or i have i lost it :mad: :eek:

I've heard these guys are quite good at doing password/encryption stuff http://www.nsa.gov/

On a serious note, if the password is just a simple (i.e. a dictionary word) password, you might be able to get a brute force cracker to get it. No idea where though

Can you not open it in read only mode? OR try and change the security permissions on the file when you right click it in Windows Explorer (Rightclick->Properties->Security-> click on your user name then tick the full control box underneath->OK) then try and open the chap again

Na it won't open for read only it still asks for the password.

Where will i find windows explorer i cant see it anywhere

Windows explorer is just the view ya get when you're looking at your files. Like if you have a word document, the thing you click on to open it (the thing that looks like a letter with a W on it, the icon). Right click the file and try the stuff I said previously
