I have held my breath for the last umpteen years waiting for BB to become available in the Moate area, and it finally arrived. But <-- yes there is a but! I live 7 Kilomatres from the actual Moat Node. And the only available BB to me at the moment is Sat BB which (according to Eircon will cost me €900+ to install) I have sieved through this NB for anything and everything to do with BB in Moate and have become really tired of waiting for any sort of announcement that will quell my thirst for BB. So if anyone that is within or outside the 7 Kilometres that has gotten BB in any way (except Sat) could post here and tell me how to get it without costing me an arm and a leg I would appreciate it. No offence to anyone but please exclude LMBB.

I would be interested to hear why you feel you should exclude them as I will be moving to an area where they provide coverage in the very near future. Is there something I should know in advance of signing up?

Ok it seems (and I am pretty excited by this) that I am in LOS of 1 of the ISP's that provides WBB in my area. The person I spoke to about it was really courteous and gave me a lot of details about WBB (which I have to be honest, I know nothing about). He even went into a lot of detail about VOIP. (And you guessed it... totally lost me) I have to wait for an Engineer to come out (2 to 3 weeks) and see if everything works. But I have to say this. If it does, it will mean "The End" of Eircon's Monopoly for me. And I cannot tell you how much that means. Wish me Luck ok. ;)
