Dodgy mp3/mpeg?

Every time i boot my PC and then go into My Computer it takes an age to load. The little torch icon is moving back and forth for a minute or two before all the drives show up etc.

I have one main drive and another with Avis and MP3s etc. When I do get into this drive after a minute it tells me:

"Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

It only happens in this drive. It seems to happen as Windows is trying to cache the files contained in it, show thumbnails etc?

    Could be a dodgy mpeg.

    Any suggestions?

EDIT: ok it seems to only happen when i try to access the folder with avis and mpegs (movies).

    sounds unusual,
id run scandisk on the drive as some part of it may be corrupted.

That happened to me once and I ended up getting really pissed off with it and deleting my avi/mpeg folder altogether.

its probably a thumbnail problem for the avi's or something... maybe they got corrupted. try accessing it in safe mode
