    Hi,
I just got my new laptop and for the next 3 months I have the option to take out this offer:
Extended Warranty for Notebooks - 3 Years Collect & Return + Accidental damage Ref: XXXXXXX
    XX.XXXXXXX.XXX
    €104,97 €127,01 Including VAT at 21%

I don't really want to be wasting money if I don't need it, what do you guys recommend? I don't have the money to be spending on this either but if you highly recommend it, I'll give it more consideration :o

The laptop is an Acer Aspire 5021 and I think it would be going to the UK for repairs if needed.

Thats not actually bad for a 3 year warranty including accidental damage.

Aye I'd agree with Gurgle.. its a laptop, and if its going to be moved from place to place regularly then definitely take out the warranty, if its basically a desktop replacement and won't be moving then it might not be worth it... but even then coffee spills could destroy it .. I'd go for it

Thanks for the input, well I don't have the funds for it now but I may take it out within the next 3 months. Yes, it will be mostly a desktop replacement but it will also be travelling with me when I do travel, which is rare but still. Is the price ok? It does seem like a good warranty alright. I just don't know if I'd need it, that's the main drawback, plus that means I've basically paif €1,400 for my laptop. :(

i'd say get it. €100 is nothing when you think of the cost of replacing the laptop itself.

Check and see if the accidental damage covers damage to the screen too, i've heard of people getting screwed by small print excluding the screen, as it is the single most expensive component in the laptop.

    It's definitely worth it.

I used to work for a computer company in the warranty department. I dealt with mainly UK customers. Even so much as a hairline crack in the screen would make the customer £800 poorer.

Ask them if accidental damage covers this. But I'd take the warranty anyway as it seems like a good price for 3 years C&R + accidental damage.
