    Story Here

It seems to be marking a trend, with the majority of people in the market for a camera going digital. It's a shame to be honest, and lets hope it doesn't continue.

Well it's no worries about dixons stopping, they aren't exactly the first place of choice to buy a 35mm camera.

Not for you or I perhaps, but it certainly highlights a growing trend.

Dixons is a mass market retailer. They concentrate on selling high volume product. In terms of cameras that means digital.

There will always be specialist retailers to cater for the smaller markets.

True ... they did the same thing with VCRs ... doesn't mean you can't get a compact 35mm camera, just not at Dixons because they cater for the mass market ... you can't get a Lecia at Dixons either

This isn't surprising, technology has moved on.
