Getting home from Shannon at 12 midnight

I'm looking at flights from Shannon to Stockholm for the end of the month and, while they're a great price, the return flight leaves me arriving in Shannon at 11.30pm. Are there buses/trains running to Limerick or ideally Dublin at this time? If not, are there any cheap places to spend the night?

Buses to Limerick or Dublin, I doubt it.

Cheap place to stay, how about the airport terminal.

Last bus from Shannon to Limerick Monday-Sunday is at midnight, arr Limerick at 00.45
There is no bus that late to Dublin.

First bus from Shannon is 07.15(08.00 Sunday)
Earliest bus Limerick-Dublin is at 07.30. First train is at 06.45.

If you are sure you will clear the airport easily by midnight then book a room in Limerick otherwise it's a night in Shannon and the hotel at the airport (great southern) isn't particularly cheap, well over €100 per room anyway. I don't know if they allow people to sleep over in the terminal but even if yes it is a truly lousy way to spend a night.

...Or option 2. Just remembered this one, turns out there is a way from Shannon to Dublin at that hour.

    Citylink
Shannon dep 00.00 Galway arr 01.25
Galway dep 02.15 Dublin arr 05.45

Not a fantastic way to spend a night but better than an airport lounge and cheaper than a hotel.

that's what I'd do, at least you'll be back in dublin before rush hour traffic and you'll get a good few hrs kip
