The Athlon XP 2800 is at 2.25 GHz for a Throughbred core and 2.086GHz for a barton core, the Athlon 64 2800 is at 1.8GHz.

edit: corrected after Jozi's post reminded me there were different cores called 2800.

Cheers guys. Just didn't know. I was going to go for a 3.4 ghz processor but I saw a computer with the AMD 2800 in it and i was just wondering which was faster.

    Cheers again

You can't judge by clock speed alone these days.

Well what do you mean by that?

At most things - Intel processors perform better at DivX encoding, and a few other things.

And i take it that celerons and the amd equivilent arent as fast as their bigger brothers with the same ghz.
    (2ghz celeron slower than 2ghz P4)
