help hd prob

    im trying to add 250 gig to my pc... problem one, its my 3rd hd, and for some reason wont show up when i awap it with the dvd drive. since im ditching one of the other drives i decided to try put xp on it, and transfer the data over...second problem, wont recognise its 137. i know i'm suppposed to install sp1, i have, but it still wont fix, anyone care to shed some light plz

    na mine is detected in bios, was working earlier in the week, what could make it not seen, and also, its not the hd, my other hd when put in its place isnt detected either

    What OS are you using now ?
    Only XP or Win 98SE will recognize a 250GB hdd straight off the bat. 2K can be convinced.

    right, well i managed to get all 3 up and running, using western digi software, only prob its i sorta messed up the 120, its saying its not formatted, ran a scan and the files are on it, any free progs to get the data off it?
