WARNING - THIS POST MAY GIVE AWAY TOO MUCH INFO FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEEN THE FILM AND INTEND TO DO SO, SO DON'T READ IF YOU INTEND TO WATCH IT...

Found Ring last year and since then have bought the trilogy, along with Audition, Dark Water, the Eye and, this weekend, a Tale of Two Sisters. Really enjoyed it, but still trying to untangle the story in my head. Anyone got any pointers - without giving things away, I presume the end is actually the real story, and much of the remainder is simply conjured up by Su-Mi?

    that's what I understood
but I also think it's worth watching again just to see it in hindsight

I remember watching this, being confused to all hell and back, then watching the extra features which explain the ending to some extent:
From what I recall, it's another variant of the multiple personality story - except that both the dead sister and the mother are personalities in the girls head (hence the bit with the dad getting out of the mum's bed and going to sleep somewhere else). Although it barely made sense at the time, so I could be wrong.

Did that alright. The features helped a lot, particularly the interview with the psychologist and the director on the second disc.
