Anyone on here use this? I'm not asking for a list of accounts, its just my friend is always going on about it and I've noticed that its becoming something of a phenomenon.

I think its the 6th most popular site on the internet. I can see this replacing email. Most of my friends arent very computer literate, but I see people using it with their entire social network on it. MSN or message boards or anything have never gotten to that level. I find it all kind of weird because hardly anyone knows anything about it. Like who runs it or anything, everyone seems to think that that guy Tom single handedly runs the site. I read an article about it that pretty much damned it, and said it was associated with spyware etc. but it was really badly written so I don't know.

Anyone know anything about the site? The actual site itself is hardly ever discussed on there.

    yup. i'm on myspace

it's riddled with spyware and had to pay a a few million fine because of it's missleading advertsising or something
News Corp, i.e. rupert murdoch own it now he bought it for 500 million a few weeks ago.. so needless to say it's going to pot VERY soon.

thats of course just what i've been reading someone more informed could say more.

If Fox have any intelligence at all, they'll let whoever is running myspace continue to do what they're good at. 500 million though...****. They must intend to do a lot with it for that sort of money. They said that they were only going to use it for Fox TV shows or some **** like that. But for 500 million...

This is the MSN blog thing right?

If so, i use it for general blog purposes... nice little attachment too. Pics, music lists all sorts of crap, me like.

No, its not. Thats MSN Spaces, I'm on about MySpace. I didnt get MySpace untill a week or two ago, so I know how annoying it is to be told to get it, but if you've gone to the effort to create a MSN Space thing you might aswell create a MySpace thing.

What is it's purpose? Is it a web-log and picture thing like the MSN space?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 626 ✭✭✭Kazaanova

It doesnt have much of a purpose. I used to be on Deviantart.com which is like MySpace in art form. There people would want you to comment on works of art they've done, but on MySpace people expect you to praise them for standing in front of a mirror with a camera. Good way to keep in contact with people though.

o yeah its like the MSN thing, much more users though and more customizable.

Muisc on pages too is really annoying. Its because it always plays straight away, it should start with the song turned off.

I wouldn't be knowin' about this, Myspace lark. Not much of a whizz on the old computers so.

yeh i'm on it, though i don't bother with it much. a lot of the PM's ya get on it are spammy annoyin things. normal messenger's better, the profile thing's just annoying. (imho)

the only reason i use it is to circumvent my workplaces blockage of messenger programs, so im able to IM most of my friends there.

Yea it's good and all, don't use it myself, however a few people I know use it as a lauch pad for dramaville...personally I think emails are better-actually no, letters, nothing like getting a letter, it's the personal touch me thinks.
