    Hi

I've always wanted to get involved in falconry but really don't have a clue where to start. Is there anywhere in Ireland that will train you to raise a falcon (or other similar large bird)? I found a place in Ashford Castle but they only bring you out into the woods in a "have a go" way, don't actually train you in the long term unfortunatly.

Also, is it cruel to have a falcon while living in a city? Cancels out the entire idea if it is, so I might as well know now before getting into it!

Dunno about the city thing, those birds seem to be very adaptable, I might be wrong there tho. I did see a bird pf prey ripping a crow to shreds in my front garden one morning and I live in Dub. Dont know about clubs or associations tho, it all sounds a bit medieval :P

Too right, I'm also very involved in the NUIG archery club, all I need is a knighthood and some squires!

I saw these birds at the sheep dog trials, some stunning birds and all looked in very good health etc.
