Connecting Sky Plus to Surround Sound System

    Hi

I trying to connect my DVD player and Surround Sound System to my Sky Plus box. I tried to connect the sound out on the Sky Plus Box to the sound in on my Surround Sound System using red and white phono wires but to no avail. I also tried to connect the Sky Plus Box to the DVD player but when I turn on the DVD player it automatically switches off the Sky signal so I can't listen to my radio tuner on the DVD player without turning off the Sky signal.

    Any Suggestions?

were you using the digital or analogue output from the sky+ box?

Plug the sky+ tv scart into your tv and your dvd to the vcr scart on the sky+. Re. your surround sound system, if it has an optical input, use it and change the optical output to Dolby Digital in the sound set up menu on sky+. If you only have phono jacks, are you switching your amp to the correct input that you connected the leads to?
