    Hey all,
I just booked an imprompt trip to Amsterdam for three nights at the end of August!
Anybody recommend any hostel thats relatively cheap, clean and not dodgy????
Preferably with a twin private room but any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Stayed in Flying Pig once, there's two of them there. Dirtiest hostel I ever stayed in. Steer clear.

i had a great time in the Flying Pig Downtown, in fact i don't think i'd stay anywhere else when i go back. (been a few times, stayed in a few different places, this was by far the best)

great chill out room, good dj tuesdays and thursdays, cheap bar, great craic, and a good place to meet people. Oh and they will give ya a guitar too.

Maybe I just don't like to stay in flea pits. Last time I was there we rented a lovely apartment for 3 days. Much nicer than a mangey hostel. I can't remember the name of it though.

nah fair enough if you had a bad experience, just saying that it wasn't that way for me, or anyone else i talked to. Great place to get to meet people too.

when i was travelling you couldnt hear enough good things about the flying pig hostel, one of the best in amsterdam. Didnt stay there myself, i was camping. Camping is a cheap option also, theres alot of campsites pretty close to the city centre.
