That is indeed a fantastic carpet, dammit a man's got to know when he's beaten :o

Still, that's about €500 too much for a 4001 and much and all as I dig Jetglo I just open the case and breath this in and the GAS goes away :p

Whoa momma! That is a sexy ric! I just bought a new bass, and I've STILL got GAS! :o

GAS effects us all, we should set up a Boards.ie Instruments Forum GAS Helpline

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

    What effect would that have?

Somebody - "Please help guys, I've just spotted a lovely Les Paul Custom going for a mere €1000!"
    Doc - "Buy it!"
    Fey - "Buy it!"
    Karl - "**** off, I want it!"

    Don't forget
Ancient1 - "That sound slike a great guitar man, but did I ever tell you about my vintage Thinline?" :p

The Fundraiser Expo might be a bit of criac though :p

My god I want a 4001. Blasted expensive Rickenbackers.
Anyone read the Rickenbacker story in Guitar magazine? Innaressin' stuff.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Yeah Doc, I'll definetly try and head, funds permitting.

Fish-head, nope, didn't read it. Summarise it in one word.

And where would we hold this expo?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

    Somewhere nice?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

And this will be to raise funds to buy ourselves more gear, right?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

    Well, duh! :p

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

And how do we decide who gets what?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

There'll probably be some initial scheming followed by a big fight, it won't be pretty :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Sounds like another disaster. Bring it on tbh!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

Let's do it the Boards way, hell yeah! :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Seriously though, if I win the lotto, I'm buying myself a Jetglo 4003. Sweet sweet bassy bass!

Man that was the very tip of the rolling series of disasters which made up the Old Scratch iceberg. Personally, I was quite pleased I recognised the hazard and had the swift forsight to endanger someone else's life ;)

But you have to ask yourself, what would Johnny Bravo have done? :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

Yes, right after I ask myself "Who is Jonnny Bravo"?:p

I suggest we hold it at my house.

*goes off to prepare chemical cocktail to spike drinks*

As for the GAS Helpline....i can just hear Doc saying (as he does) "Do it. Do it now." in Christopher Lee's voice.

    :p
