Got a Sony mini dv in Usa recently, and I think the charger that came with it is dual voltage as it says on Ac power adapter

    Ac in ~ 100-240v 50/60 hz 18W.

    Dc out 8.4v 1.7A (8.4v 1.7A)

The lead going into the adapter has the normal usa plug and I wanted to put a normal european plug onto it but it has one white wire and one black wire.

So anyone know where they go as regards to our brown and blues on a plug?

    Thanks

If you find out for sure beforehand, then you'll miss out on the excitement of just plugging it in and seeing if it'll work or fry! ;)
Or maybe it's just me? O_o

black is the live wire, white is the neutral.

even thought it seems to take the 240 volts as input I'd buy a convertor anyway. stop you frying your self/equipment/bystanders. ;)

EDIT: google is great. maybe have a look there initially.???? not having a go, just sayin :)

I actually have a step down converter but its like a lunch box. I did do a google and came up with nothing. You sometimes have to word it correctly to get what you are looking for.

if it says 240 volts you dont need a transformer. just get an adapter like such and save yourself the rewiring. http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=1186&doy=7m8
