ActiveX in FF...

I was over on a site earlier that required activeX to run. After much clicking about I ended up having to open the page in IE and installing the activeX in that browser to run what I was looking to run...

So my question...does FF use ActiveX? Do I need an extension or plug-in for it to work?
Or is it something to do with FF blocking the pop-ups that activeX installers use to tell you you need to install them?
    Any advice appreciated...

    Noooooooooo! don't do it.

Firefox does *not* support ActiveX, and never will. ActiveX is a IE-specific feature that no other browser even wants to support (for various reasons like the huge security holes).

Net Zero means we are paying for the destruction of our economy and society in pursuit of an unachievable and pointless policy.

Figures...I was wondering why I'd only run into this issue now after so long using FF.
Unfortunately fileplanet's d/l utility requires it so I was faced with little choice...
Time to go clean up the mess...
