Satellite Finder

Hi,

Im living in Donegal and am looking for a satellite finder/strength signal indicator. Do Antenna Electronics do these? Cant see any on their web site.

Does anyone know where I can buy a Satellite Finder online that will be delivered quite quickly - 3 or 4 working days?

Hi. Are you intending to actually use this as a finder or a meter? Its pretty limited in both regards but if you are pretty experienced at doing 'sat finding' then you can ignore anything i say really..

I have used that meter with both great and zero results. If you want to find satellites at a particular position then you have to know the rough direction first and it only really works for positions with largeish clusters of satellites.

Its certainly better than nothing at all in some cases, but as good/bad as nothing at all in other cases.

I am not very experienced - actually in this case all I am trying to do is realign my minidish for Astra 28.x degrees satellite. I think that it has moved slighly but have found it very difficult to align properly/exactly without a signal strenth indicator.

The problem I am having is that I dont receive a Satellite signal on some channels at all, only sometimes on others while some others are perfect. I have put in brand new COAX (high quality for digital) but it has only improved it very very slightly. I live on the edge of the footprint I think which doesnt help either. If I can't do it using a sat finder then I will have to buy a larger dish I think. The main channel which I want is Racing UK 432 but this is always off - sometimes gets better when I move the dish.

It is more of a meter than a finder I want - I want to get exact position for sat dish.

I have a minidish Sky standard size - 40-60cm I think. I could be wrong but think that this is minidish is absolute minimum for these parts.

I was wondering why Tony said Thanks, well Tony you are now 15 euro richer thanks to that post - I have made the purchase and selected SDS delivery. When can I expect my new purchase?
