Labour Party says broadband must be part of the National Development Plan

    The Labour Party's spokesperson on communications, Deputy Tommy Broughan, has welcomed the drafting of Ireland's new National Development Plan (NDP), but warned that the new plan needs to focus on the development of telecommunications networks. "It is now clear that the attention given to advanced communications infrastructure, especially broadband, and other related ICT matters in the current NDP 2000-2006 was completely inadequate," he said.
