He lives on in the hearts and minds of every palestine.....

If he was around today I think he might be a bit bummed that the whole "final solution" thing didnt work out too well.

To the op, that thread was obviously binned over some people ignorant beliefs and views. Also even though it was placed in the cuckoos nest some posts highly offensive, coupled with the fact that it totally went off the topic around the 4th page.

Can someome provide a link to where it now resides

Wait a minute, just because not everyone agree's with your liberal views, does not make them ignorant.

I'm not going to argue or force you to change your views on it, I can respect your opinion, The only thing that could possibly be highly offensive was the grandfather falling out of the watchtower joke.

Agree it did go way off topic, and i've a feeling boards may not be able to handle a full discussion on Hitler, just because someone doesn't follow the same views as you on this topic, doesnt make them anti-semantic, a nazi, or some right wing extremist. There are the reasons that it is difficult to find unbiased information regarding Hitler/WWII/Holocoast etc.

I'd love a nice big discussion, and as i mentioned I'm open minded, and don't mind being proved wrong, I'm more inquisitive than anything. Apologies if that got some peoples backs up.

    hahahaha!

but as much as people laugh at Hitler now, I have to say that, the man was a genious, and a very powerful personality, of course what he did was wrong and evil, but the person himself was, well, a great powerful person, he just applied his mind to the wrong doings.

The hitler thread is now in the cuckoos nest here: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=286152&page=1&pp=30

And it is now called: "Post Lord of The Rings Catchphrases here!". Posting about Hitler would be off topic and would probably result in a ban. :)

Although Hitler did commit horrible crimes against humanity he pulled Germany out of econmic ruin and in 8 years turned a dying country into a world power. He re-established national identity by walking out of the League. ( now we see it was a Anglo-French club) Hitler saw it back then. He was very intelligent in the 20's-30's . After that he went a tad bit mad.

Think of this - Communisim was hostile to the West. Had Germany not recovered under Hitler,WW2 would not have taken place leading to the growth of the USA and USSR in direct military and economic competition. Both armed with Nuclear weapons without the lessons of ww2 to learn from. You do the math.

Not really....before the war, the States had a small army relative to their size, and the USSR was horribly outdated in military technology. It took WW2 to develop Russia in particuar, at the outset of war they were steamrolled over by the German army, they lost 10.000s of tanks and over a million men in the first few weeks, try applying that pre-war army in competition with the USA ;)

/but yes, he was an inspirational leader, not only to the people of german but to the world, he was an fantastic statesman that initiated a fantastic recovery that could only have previously been classed as miracle, its a shame he wasn't so tactful and brilliant in his later years and decisions...

Hitler may have been a fantastic statesman and civil leader but he is the reason the Germans lost the war...Dont forget that.

yep, both Stalin and Hitler did

a War, even though it is bad = massive boosts in human advancement, WWII has brought lots of bad things, but also good things, technological advancements, and, and, well I can't think of anything else it brought good.

Sure you see that shuttle craft docked at the ISS...thats all down to some German scientists taken by America(and the other victors). They started America's space race.
