I'm with Feylya, doesn't really do anything for me.
    Decidedly meh.
The one Doc posted is pretty, but a bit tacky, can't make up my mind on it...

    "Decidedly" meh!

Shocking..... I'll see how many rocks i've left from Feylya's stoning and get back to you :p

I can't stop drooling at that beauty. I'm not mad about gold hardware, but it's different in this instance.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

Aye, gold is usually meh, but that Mary Kaye one is just... wow! :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,592 ✭✭✭Ancient1

It's so wow that it's over 5 grand on thomann

I honestly have to say "Meh" aswell... Fenders in general just don't do anything for me.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,592 ✭✭✭Ancient1

    Who asked you anything? :D

Doc, what are we gonna do with all these guys........

    (double post, sorry)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 29,130 ✭✭✭✭Karl Hungus

Sorry man, but I've never liked strats.

I'd probably buy one if I won the lotto mind you. You know, just to be completist, as there is a fairly certain sound you only get from a Fender, but other than that... Meh.

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 8,576 ✭✭✭fitz

Gimme this over your posh Strat any day:

    Tasty.

Now that's something I can get behind! :D

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,848 ✭✭✭✭Doctor J

Ahh you can't compare the two, they're different beasts altogether. Everyone should have one of each IMO :p

eehh... it just looks like a normal strat.. eekk*runs and hides* and strats are so not my thing... only spikey guitars make me cream my pants... looks wise anyway.. i love the tones off les pauls

It's just a loved looking Strat. Nothing to go mad about I reckon.
I like wierd vintage guitars and hollowbodies and basically anything old.

That picture doesn't do it justice.

    ----

The a transparent white ash body is probably the only one that works well with gold hardware, imo.

    HELP ME!

That was fun. I just put a bid on it (knowing it'll go for lots more). Attempting to buy a 69 Strat has brightened my Monday :)

Besides, it's not worth more than $669 cos it's old, you can get new ones for $700 ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,117 ✭✭✭Eoin Madsen

I have to say, I really do like Strats, but I... don't like those strats.

Seriously. Do it. It's going to go for at least $6-7000 so put in a low bid now, just for the thrill of it all :D

Feels real good to be on top of the mountain, even if just for a minute :)

Hopefully i'll be able to present you with my very own eye candy at some stage. I decided to build a frankenstein strat and cannot be dissuaded!
What started out with an itch is now a full blown obssession - and i will succeed. :p

i´m not a huge strat fan... and did you read the questions they asked on that ebay... what wood is the body, what voltage... i like guitars, but is that not slightly obssessive... each to their own i guess.... anywho speaking of old guitars.. i have a soft spot for rickenbackers... http://www.thomann.de/thoiw6_rickenbacker_33012jg_prodinfo.html

I love Ricks but they have to be in that sexy red colour. Black is ok but the red ones are way nicer.

Man, that is not obsessive. The wood of a guitar makes a huge, profound impact on it's sound. Finding out how hot the pickups are also doesn't strike me as odd at all. Whenever I'm eyeing up new pickups I always have to look at their output level.
