My broadband modem is a ZyXel Prestige 623R-T1 which is connected to my PC through USB. My problem is when I want to FTP stuff to my Xbox through a Local Area Connection (using a crossover cable) I have to disable my internet connection and enable the connection to my Xbox I can't have both open together. Why is this? Is there any way around this? Could I plug the crossover cable into the modem and FTP my Xbox throught he modem.I'm using XP if it matters.

    you shouldn't mod xboxs! :p

i had a modem like that for utv broadband, does it create 2 network icons in network neighbourhood, one dial up and one lan,if so i am thinking the lan one for the modem might have a 196.168.0.X ip, when it should be set to dhcp

else set the dial-up network (icon from network neighbouthood) to share internet access to your proper network card, and set the xbox to dhcp.

don't break it now, cause you have no warrenty :p
