Myself and my friend are heading there on sunday for 2weeks with another friend flying out to us for the 2nd week, we only booked this yesterday. We're all 17 and were due to go to Egypt (Cairo+Sharm El Sheik) but because of recent events we felt abit uneasy naturally, so we cancelled. Anyway I was just wondering from people who have been there what is like...food, beaches, shops, price of things, nightlife, things to do, etc....any advise really would be great..!

    Thanks!

For a couples holiday to Gran Canaria you made the right choice. Quiet "familyesque" kind of place with nice beaches. A taxi-ride to Playa des Ingles where the crazy fun is at is about 20-30 minutes drive away, but the taxi prices are rock bottom over there. I think it cost us about 9 euro for the trip.
At least if you want an early night, you will get one in P.R.

Alcohol, cigs and food are very cheap over there. You'll find that Coke and Pringles and the like are at the very least the same price as you'll find here. Plenty of decent Spanish stuff at rock-bottom prices. When you head out at night, that is when your money will be raped. Prices are not half as dear as at home but you have all this happy hour ****e where you buy 2 for 1 but you are buying 2. You'll see when you get there.

Also if you are planning any excursions(boat trips, deep-sea fishing, water park etc.), MAKE SURE you do it through your tour operator and not the gangsters on the street. They all work for a club in the Kasbah called Scandic. I wouldn't even get within viewing distance of them again. These boys could sell their own mother to you. Don't entertain them!!!! Really.

    Anyway have fun

I just came home from play de ingles there last week,
thought it was a good laugh for 10 lads to go, 14 days of the same ****e is a bit too much with the irish centre, went to the english centre twice had a good night one night, and a **** night in the "chick" n *cream* mainly because of the locals starting fights with us. the only trouble I saw over there was between my own mates having an argument so the place is grand no trobule makers over there or anything. I would really recamend doing the perl diving, you can get yourself a nice present for a lady friend back home and they look really sweet and costs in total about 45-55 euro in total for a chain. go karting is good laugh, make sure you all wear t-shirts when going,
the jet ski's are good aswell(make sure to get a two person) go easy for the first 10 mins, then go crazy on them till they tell you to get off,
wouldn't really recamend going on the boose cruise(40 euro) and its sangra ria & local ****e, or else bring your own drink(whats the point?) foam party is good laugh to, but make sure to get hammered before you go there as its all cheap ****e
thats all I can think of about playa de ingles
hope you have a good hol,

    Hiya,

Went to Puerto Rico three years agoa nd had a great time, now its not Ibiza, but if you wanted Ibiza you would of booked Ibiza, we were told by loads of people that there was no nite life and we'd be bored stupid, It was the opposite, there were plently of pubs and clubs, how many do you need anyway, you'll find one you like and prob go back there most of the time. we didnt go into Plata del ingles, plenty to do in Puerto Rico, the one thing that i do remember is a restaurant in the old town, its by the el greco apartments its called "family clan", its typical really, steaks/ burgers/ pizzas, but the steaks are to die for, the best we'd ever had, we went back there a few times over the fortnight, The best water sports are in Puerto Rico too, we went jet skiiing and parasailing. def reccommed it !!!!

Have a ball, Wish i was going!!!!
