I don't mean to complain all the time about boxing, because I love it, but Adam Smith is the worst commentator ever. He's so bad. I usually have to turn the volume down when I'm watching fights on Sky, which is a shame. I think he should retire.

On the other hand, Ian Darke is GREAT. My fav commentator ever, I hope he's doing Reid vs Lacy!!

    Jim Watt is bearable.

I think Adam Smith is ok. I liked the Darke/McCrory combination best.

Ian Darke is a legend! he's an impossible act to follow tbh so Smith is a poor substitute

Jim Neilly is good whenever BBC do boxing

he wasn't doing the Reid/Lacy because of the soccer (Arsenal V Chelsea) , looks like he may have taken Martin Tyler's role and boxings loss is soccers gain .

I have to say, I completely disagree with your opinion of Adam Smith. Having been a dedicated boxing fan for many years and having heard everyone from Harry Carpenter to Reg Gutteridge, I think Adam calls the fights extremely well, his knowledge of boxing is excellent and he has learnt well from Ian Darke who is doing terrifically on the football. Adam is the future of boxing commentary in this country and Sky should feel lucky to have him! I never have to turn the volume down!!

I think Smith's quite good , he does fine for domestic bouts and is better than anyone ITV/BBC can come up with . But Darke really is the daddy when it comes to the role of main comentator .

Amazing to think it's been 2 years already , I think Smith has definitely improved in that time as I believe I used to dislike him quite a bit .

Watt is my favourite for colour commentating , knowledgeable guy and that Scottish accent can add to the excitement(where as a guy like Atlas can take away from it) .

My favourite American colour commentator has to be Al Bernstein , really knows his stuff and yet again doesn't take anything away from the excitement like Atlas can . Showtimes blow by blow guy is good too .

The only HBO guys I like are Manny Steward and Larry Merchant.......I think I've begone to appreciate him so much more sine Max Kellerman arrived on the scene .

I'm just as likely to be Adam Smith as you are to be the great executioner Bernard Hopkins....I've never had the privilege of meeting either!
