Hiding a window on startup.

If my program is ran with a /auto option i want my window not to show but everything else to go as it should normally. Ive tried ShowWindow(SW_HIDE); when i get the WM_INITDIALOG message but it doesnt work. For some reason the window still shows. er?!?!?!
