ICS in Windows 2000?

    Looking for some help here...

I'm trying to setup ICS on a Windows 2000 (Prof, SP4 and fully patched as of today) machine that has 1) an ISDN card and 2) onboard NIC.

Now all of the documentation I've read say's "Open the properties and click the Sharing tab...", but there ain't no sharing tab available... on either device.

Can anyone offer any suggestions on how I can activate ICS..?

Here's all the stuff I've tried so far
Used different ISDN card (on the off chance it was the hardware)
Added second NIC (apparently MS doesn't say so but you have to have 2
Searched Add/Remove Programs to add the ICS/Windows component - it ain't there
Used all of the most up-to-date drivers for everything...

Now I have seen this on another (personal) W2K PC (with an analogue modem, granted) so I know it's there...

Cheers for any help guys/girls... :)

make sure in ie tools, options, connections, lan settings is set to automatic. Also make sure your TCP/IP address is set to automatic as well. If you enter your own IP address it plays hell!

    [Update]
Turned on the ICS service in Services and rebooted
Turned on the Remote Access & Routing service in Services and rebooted

Still no joy (or Sharing tab for that matter) .... :(

    [/Update]

Cheers galwaydude, checked that, same as

There isn't an entry in Add/Remove programs required. No service settings should hide this tab.

Just to ensure that you're checking the right page (you've probably tried this but just to be sure. Sorry, got "assume nothing" training.)

    You went to

    network and dialup connections
    double-clicked on the connection
This brings up Local Area Connection Status.
    Click Properties.
This brings up Local Area Connection Properties window.

On A LAN connection there should be at least General and Sharing tabs
On a dial up connection there should be General, Options, Security, Networking and Sharing

Non MS drivers might have added tab but these are the same on all machines.

Cheers ressem, thats exactly the steps I took (no offence taken :D )

Yes, as you list them, but there is no sharing tab on either. If I get a chance I'll post a pic

Go to the properties of your local area connection and ensure that the following items are installed, client for microsoft networs and file and print sharing for microsoft networks. That should allow you to share files.

Emm, that obviously should be client for microsoft networks.... :D

hmm it was in win98 and was very straight forward, there doesn't seem to be simple way to do in windows 2000 looks like reinstalling the card is the only to reset it on the adapter.
