From how you rated Wenday's play, would an earlier raise have made the difference and pushed her off??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

I didnt want to push her off! I flopped the nutz with no flush draws on the board. I wanted callers!

    fair enuffsky!

You got two all-in callers... What's the problem?

I'd offer a hug but I think I'm going to join the "sick of bad beat stories" club on the board here...

    I've changed my mind now...

Bad beat stories should be allowed if...

The money was all in before the beat happened

    AND...

If the percentage chance of being beaten was lower than the percentage chance of the bad beat in the last qualifying bad beat story to be posted on the boards.

    It'd make a nice sticky.

nah i dont care, was only a £2 tourney. Not looking for sympathy am I? Just pointing out a funny hand. Think I care about £2???

Spare a thought for Jizzle and his AA cracked by KJ and Q4.

Yeh should have a special sticky for bad beat stories. Best one at the end of the year wins a prize!

Could even have a formula to work out how bad it is:

(% you were ahead pre-flop) x (buy-in for tournament) x (size of pot) x (amount of bad beats you had gotten already that day)
    = bad beat

also multiply by 2 if you lost on aces!

On another point, im sick of everyone moaning about bad beat stories. It seems as though a small proportion of boardsters (usually the ones who think they are a lot better than the rest at poker), continually moan and bitch about people posting bad beat stories.

    If you dont like them

    DONT READ THEM !!!!

Do you think he felt sorry for you after the hand or were you both in shock!

You will never beat my pocket 3s story. All-in against As2s. Flop gives me trips, turn and I have my poker of 3s only for the river to give him his str8 flush to the 5s.

    Hmmm...

This was not how it was meant to go...

strangely i wasnt really angry straight away (believe it or not).
i just laughed and typed typical ppp. he was a sound enough guy and i wasnt one bit angry towards him, nothing he could do, wasnt a bad play or anything.

it was just after i had a run of bad beats, (pocket 3s callin my top 2 pair all the way to the river for 3/4 of his cash, only to river a 3! for example).

honestly i was beyond angry, half mad i think!
all i could do was laugh

    yeh that was ridiculous!

pity he only had 300 in chips. would have been great if it happened in a big game....

Not exactly fair, seen as the title of your post is 'how not to play the flopped nuts'. you know as well as anyone here that you did nothing wrong in your play. If you had called it 'bad beat' it gives readers a better guide.
I actually like bad beat stories as I don't feel so alone. :) Bad beat sticky has to be the answer with bans for those who post them elsewhere (disguised or not :D )

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

    yeh I agree

well since we're all sharing... the worst I had was in the 100 freeze out last month in the mayfair.
    Dealt pocket 7's, flop 10 7 10
ended up being all in with a fitz dealer (apparantly) turn was a 4
He flipped poket 4's, i had him beat with a higher house, until he got his 1 outer on the river...ugh! Quad 4's to take out the house! bleugh! :D

I like bad beat stories too but I know alot of people here are sick of them. This 'bad beat sticky' is a great idea. I can't help myself, I'm addicted to them so it would be nice to have a sticky before I get banned for whinging. :D

We need a "Poker Sticky's" forum. Users cannot start new threads, only post to existing ones. Threads would include:
    - My latest bad beat
    - What's on in the fitz tonight?
    - What day is it?
    - Why i'm never playing the freeroll again
    - Why i'm a muppet
    - PPP is rigged
    - VC is rigged
    - I'm a newbie, what books should I read?
    :D
