My wife told me this morning that I freaked her out last night while I was asleep, seemingly I was staring at her with my eyes wide open but while being fast asleep!

A bit like the eyes on this fellow ->

    Very strange...

I was joking :), but the teeth dreams suck allright but despite all the claims that the ****s about to the fan when you have those dreams nothing ever happens.

One of my favourite ****ed up dreams is the only one that can scare the ****e outta me, I only ever get it in the middle of the worst flu's sweats and all. Basicly Im in the normal world, and every thing starts growing, doubling and generally flying outta control in one big ****ed up exponential growth till im engrossed. Makes me wonder if Ill ever work in nanotech..... :)

anyone get the dream in which your falling and you wake up with a jolt?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭kawaii

I woke up at 6 o' clock once... I thought I had woken up really early because it was dark out ('twas the winter). Then my lodger came in the door. I asked her where she had been and she said work.

    Got me right messed up.

And i was starting to wonder why it was getting darker out.

Of course I'm sure plenty of people have had the same experience...

It's embarrasing when you're dozing off on a bus or plane and that happens. Everyone stares at you!

quite a lot for some reason. it is annoying when it happens on public transport. also when in bed and it happens i normally hit some part of my anatomy off the wall or something. very painful

Yeah I've had this kind of thing happen to me a lot lately... I wake up, not remembering what I'd been dreaming, and I'd have some really urgent thoughts in the forefront of my mind... like "OMFG SOMETHING OR OTHER!!!"
    Weirdola.

    the falling ones are weird...
I've woken up a few times and my pilow has been soaking wet and my face is al sticky and I've a headache and puffy eyes and I'm stil tired, I'd spent the whole night crying but in my sleep...

i have the strangest dreams.....like im watching my own death, or im being possessed by the devil etc etc. theyre all really scary and i wake up feeling very jittery!!

but the worst dreams are when you think that youre after waking up, and youre lying in your bed as if you are awake, but youre in fact still asleep. then you try and do something, but you cant. and i recall sometimes in these dreams trying to scream out, but not being able to do so. then the whole "waking up but still being asleep" continues several times, and each time i think im awake but im not. so i try to wake myself up from them by calling out or getting up from my bed, but none of them work cos in the dreams cant do anything. they're very scary dreams, and i woke up from one to find i had broken my alarm clock....probably trying to wake myself up out of them!! i used to get them a lot a few years ago, but luckily not so much now!!

Ive had the teeth falling out dream as well. Its pretty horrid, especially when they fall out of your mouth and you think you have none left and then go and stab the remaining teeth into your bloodied raw gums.
I hate closing my mouth again when Im trying to fall asleep again.

I feel strange after sleep all the time. Sleep is my preferred reality at times.

If your teeth are rotten, crooked, and/or falling out this means that your lies are hurting someone very badly and that you will soon be found out <snip>It becomes much easier to interpret this kind of dream if you think of teeth as representing words.
You're all a bunch of filthy liars so...

    From www.sleeps.com

    Fall

If you dream you are falling but you are not frightened or harmed shows that you will meet with adversity but overcome it with ease. If the fall greatly frightens you then will you under go a major struggle in life. If you are injured in the fall you will lose many friends.

on a personal note, i've only ever had that dream once in my life, and i almost hit the ground but woke up just a few inches from it, covered in sweat and pains in my chest.. only the 2nd dream that scared me sh*tless.

Damn that's pretty bad, i wake up once in a while with someones hand mysteriously on my face, of course i'm freaked out until i realise it's my own!!

A night of sleep lying on your arm removes ALL feeling and mobility :/

(think your body wakes you to save it from the lock of circulation so you get really caught off guard)

Sleeping on BOTH arms sounds like a challenge though :)

I cant say dreams ever scared me but sleep walking does, during exam time esp i sleep walk into the shower it really hits you hard waking up in the shower, it physically hurts you. i'm told this can be bad for your health, anybody know why?

waking up after sleeping on your arm is pretty weird, and you get horrible pins and needles from it too, it's pretty much agony when it happens, I've found myself walking around the house, waiting for it to go away so I can go back to sleep, the first time it happened I didn't know what was up.

Wow, that's a pretty accurate description of this kind of thing, these are my scariest dreams too, especially when you also have your face in the pillow and you dream you're gonna fukking choke if you don't move but you can't move cause you're sleeping. A couple of times I woke up from these gasping for air.

Once I badly needed a kleenex in my dream and when I woke up I found myself looking for it behind the tv. :(

I often wake up feeling that I cant move my arm. that it has gone dead on me and after panic of trying to shake it without any movement makes me scream. and then the pins and needles take affect.

another one i had a while back was where i am asleep but i think I am totally aware. I thought there was some1 in my room hiding behind the curtain and if he realised i was awake then he would kill me. so i am in a silent panic trying not to move at all (the trying to stay still was the hardest part). my heart thumping like never before. then i realise he is moving closer so i woke up with a sudden jerk and hysteria. didnt sleep well for ages after that one.

I've met myself in my dreams before, it was like a series of them, where the 2nd me scared the living daylights out of the 'real' me, in all different scenarios and in different locations, it wasn't nice at all...
