Anyone know how to play Revelate by The Frames on guitar?

What's that quick riff (there's a bit of rapid string bending going) in the bridge just before the violin solo, after "but this time I'm making it on my own"? Was trying to get this last night and for the life of me I can't figure it out!

Any help appreciated. (I checked all the tabs online and no-one seems to have it)

Apologies if this is the wrong forum.

    You sure answered his question...
I think I know how to play that part of the song, but I couldnt write it down with-out having a guitar in my hand. I'll have a go when I get home and post tomorrow if I can

Again, you haven't really accomplished much with this comment. Why did you even come into this thread? Frames bashing seems to be the new cool thing to do, whats with that?

I have to say, Revelate is a fantastic song, as is the dancer. I would love to be able to play it... So I'm keeping an eye on this one!

    Finally someone with some sense....

The dancer is the reason I got into the frames. I went to see them live with a mate without having heard them before. I was about 16 at the time and was only starting to get into the whole live thing. The gig was in vicar street and they opened with the dancer. absolutely blew me away that 5 guys could produce such a sound live. i've seen them about 20times live since and they've never played the dancer again...

I should have entitled this thread "How sh*t are the Frames?".

Daram, thanks for the reponse. I'd hugely appreciate your thoughts on what you think that riff might be. The guitar bridge goes C#m / A / riff. I think the riff is based on the G#m chord/scale.

For the record, I'm doing a MIDI backing track of Revelate. Trying to get overdriven electric guitars down to a tee in MIDI is difficult.

Midi distorted guitars are among the worst sounds ever produced in this world. I dont think midi was ever supposed to do that. It'll make a funny ringtone though...

    Try this..

Not sure if this is right I played this song a while ago and this seemed to work well for the part I think you are talking about.

I cannot write tab so bear with me.

    E
    0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0
    B
    5-5-5-5-5-5-7-7-7
    G
    D
    A
    E

I kind of slide to the fifth fret on the B-String and then use a fair bit of vibrato on the string whilst changing between b and e strings..

Probably completely wrong but you can get away with it.

    D

True, it's takes a big of creativity to mask the limitation of the midi format when it comes replicating guitar pieces. But it's not working out too bad for me, I've attached a bit of it.

Thanks. I'll give it a blast tonight. Close enough might be good enough.

Depends what you want to use it for. I mean, it makes a good ringtone but it's hardly something you'd play/sing along to. If you're looking for a backing track, try running the midi signals into a program like sampletank 2 and writing it back out as mp3. you'll get a better sound overall.

Nice one for the ringtone anyway, just put it on my phone. works a treat.

You're right to an extent. I mean, it sounds crappy through the Microsoft/Roland GS software module that comes with Windows but there are some good MIDI hardware sound modules out there with amazing samples.

I know. I have Hypersonic and the Hans Zimmers series of guitar samples for the guitar parts, Spectrasonics Trilogy Total Bass Module for the bass part and Battery 2 for the drums. Sounds like a band doing an authentic cover when you pipe the midi out through them.
