So that's where all those 18 year old twats like Rooster, McFly et al get their "actually I'm a serious blues guitarist - check out my axe" knackered guitars.

I've had the one guitar for about 11 years, but I guess I look after it too well... looks nowt like those.

If you ever drag the Ric down the road behind a car I will be only one of many to hunt you down :p

    Hey, that's a great idea!

I've seen people building guitars to replic them but I don't think I agree with it. My second oldest guitar has a few chunks out of it but nothing that bad. I want every bit of damage to have a story behind it :p

Agreed. My ESP is in a sorry state but it's been gigged hard, dropped, kicked and had other untold misfortunes inflicted upon it in it's 20 odd years of existence. Principal among these was me having to sand the painting of Tank Girl off it which the lump who owned it before me had done

    But Tank Girl!

Yeah, WTF was that about? :(

He had removed the paint but it had left a shadow in the poly coat, so I had to sand it all off.

Tank Girl rocks :p It shouldn't have left a shadow all the way through the poly.

Well it did and it looked stupid so it all had to go. Now it's a nice, dirty white, goes well with the vintage mint pickguard :)

Mmm, dirty white. Much better than snow white. She was always a bitch :p

Of course, dragging behind a van might give a more authentic look than using a belt sander :p

    Jesus!

My strat has a bit of paint falking off it now, but it is 12 years old.

One small chip on one of my guitars is the sum of my relic experience. And that was due to a corner of a wall being too close to me when I turned around wearing the bass. Poor thing.

In my experience, all you have to do to get the sh*t kicked out of your guitar overnight free of charge is take it to a house party, leave it discreetly on a couch in the living room & pick it up next morning. If you can find it.

That's blasphemy! Might aswell get a blowtorch to your leg.

My thoughts exactly, why anyone would look for - never mind PAY for - such abuse to be inflicted upon their guitar is beyond me

I don't know about anyone else, but I like the look of a reliced strat.
