i have always been fascinated by people who are involved in the porn industry
who are these ppl and what are their backgrounds?
Are they feeding a habit or are they just in it for the money or fun or what?
are they dosowned by their friends or family?
why are they predominantly from eastern europe and sout america?

Who knows is the answer I think to you questions.

I dont think any of us here (including porn stars like myself) could state categorically what the reason is for involvement in the industry. I think your answers lie in your questions TBH i.e.

Some are in it to feed the sexual appetite
Some are in it because they have huge privates
Some are in it because they have no money and want lots
Some are in it because they are forced into it by criminal gangs
Some are eastern european, some are american, some are english.......

etc etc ad nauseum. On the basis of taking it as a paid profession, why (directed at original poster) do you do your work (so long as you have a job that is).

The largest porn industry (afaik) is based in California. Most of the actors come from there, though some can come from all over America and Europe. It is common for a European porn star to move to America once they have become well know, as they can make much large amounts of money.

Most of the girls are under 25 (over the hill in the porn industry), while the men are normally older.

Loads of reasons. Some are in it because they need money, including drugs, but the legitimate porn industry in the US won't let you make movies if you are a drug user and there are regular blood screenings for drugs, along with things like HIV. So you won't get very far in the mainstream porn industry if you are herion addict, but thats not to say you can't make money from underground movies.

A lot of porn stars claim to be in it for the fun. Basically most of them say the love sex. Make of that what you will, maybe they do. There is good money to be made if you become famous, but most don't, so it would be the dream of financlial reward rather than it actually happening.

Some have trouble with their family, others don't .. it is hard to have general stereotype over the entire world wide industry. Some doctors are disowned by their families i would imagine.

They aren't? Depends on what you are watching, but there are porn industries all over north/south america and europen and asia. The majority of mainstream porn is produced in California and Europe, but the "stars" can come from anywhere.

I saw an interview with Randy Spears (sigh) once who didn't seem very enamoured with the whole thing. It probably starts out as "Wahey, I'm getting paid to have sex" but they soon become jaded. During the course of the interview he actually referred to himself as "nothing more than a prostitute" which is hardly the statement of someone happy in his line of work.
As for the "predominantly from eastern europe and sout america" I'd have to agree with what Wicknight said, it depends on what you see.
