Thinking of heading to Malta next month for a break. Looks good, fun, hot and historic. Any one been there? Any advice?

    Hi Citizen Jake.

I was there in june and had a real loveley time. I stayed in St.Julians. It is a lively spot at the weekend. Pleanty of things to do. Valetta (the capital) was only 30 mins bus ride from St.Julinas. The bus prices are very cheap. It costs 20p (anout 45 cents) to travel anywhere in the Island. Resturaunts are really good there. It costs on average about LM10 (about $23) for a very nice 3 course meal. Also in St. Julians there is a casino. A great way to pass an evening away. If you are going to the casino for the first time bring your passport as they have to register you. It is free admission and you can get free minerals and toasties in there. Also I went on a day cruise which was beautiful. The boat name was the Fernandez 2. It cost about LM20 for the trip which includes lunch and fresh fruit all day. The cruise brings you to the surrounding islands (Goza & Camino). You then stop in 2 places where you can jump off of the boat and have a swim. One of the places in the blue lagoon which is stunning. Also in Goza you have an option to take a speedboat ride to see some sea caves. This is amazing. It brings you to places like where the film popeye was filmed. This trip cost an extra LM3.50.
One thing there are very little beaces there so make surte you get accomidation with a nice swimming pool. Its also gets cool enought at night time there but air conditioning would still be nice.

Best of luck if you do go
    G
