    hey,

There are sapphires and powercolors and some others that you can buy, but I was wondering why aren't there any real ATI cards? where can I buy one?

I don't think ATI are in that business any more - they manufacture the chipsets and all, but third party OEM's actually build and sell the whole graphics card - just like the way nVidia works.

They did up to about a year ago anyway, altough they weren't very common. Some american sites like newegg.com had them. The thing about them is that they're very basic, just the plain reference kit and they don't come with much a bundle, just the driver iirc (no games, demos or cables). On top of all that they cost more than most of the others too. 3rd party cards are generally a better buy, they have better bundles, tend to cost less and many of them have better coolers or memory or are clocked better.

edit: if you really want one, ebay might be your best bet. I think the only reason people wanted one is that ATi's own cards had better success rates with flashing bioses to get the next level up.
