    Ok a quick question.

Pace 56k modems are the dogs bollix apparently. But is there any performance difference between the internal and external models bar the obvious tongue.gif
(i.e. should I spend the extra lids for the external or not).

    Opinions please ......

    Gandalf.

I've got an internal Pace 56k: it was easy to set up, is well documented, and well spec'd. The advantages I can see over the external are 1. its cheaper, 2. Takes up no extra space or PSU, 3. Bypasses slow UARTs (not a problem nowadays, I suppose). If you have the external space, no free ISA slots, money and speedy com ports, I'd say go for the external. If not, go internal.

    So there.

I always go for internals, cos I hate trying to find another power socket for the next gadget being plugged in.
