No. Don't do it. Save your money and get a decent amp.

Terrible amps. What gear are you using at the moment? Are you looking for jam with a band?

There's really no point getting it. 15W will do you grand for the time being. If you have that money burning a hole in your pocket, pickup up some effects like a Pod v2.

I did exactly what you are proposing to do a few years ago. It was an ok amp that did what I needed it to, no gigging with it just jamming and so forth. I would say that at the time it was a pretty good choice but today there are somany other better alternatives. If it is simply for home use then I would say get a Vox valetronix as it will give you a host of sounds that sound really good when kept to lowish levels. I understand you wanting to ungrade the amp as a small 15 watt solid state amp gets boring very fast. The MGDFX 30 is a good buy at €160 euro all the same but I would really strongly advise anyone against buying an Marshall MG above the MG30DFX. That would not be a good choice. Steer clear of the AVT range also too. I think that if you go into town you can get them down to withing 20 euro or so of the online price on those Vox jobs. I am always willing to pay 15% more ot buy it in real Irish shop. Its really a lot better to do business there and then. You could find one in the buy and sell too if you took a look.

Overall dont go for the MG. :)

Unless you're pushing some good effects into it, it's not a great amp. Seriously, save your money and get a better amp or guitar or effects.
