The Ballroom of Romance - Lower Deck

    This gig is run by Dublin band 'The holy Ghost Fathers' it's on monthly in the Lower Deck in Portobello/Rathmines Bridge. The BEST part of the whole scene is that it's NOT Whelans and is consequently free of the 'groupie hanger on syndrome' (Mates of Paddy Casey and the Frames etc)
    Bands are invited to submit their material with a view to getting future gigs and the crowd are very friendly so check it out

    I've been at a few of them and it can be damn good, saw dublin act 'Betamax Format' there and it was f**n Awesome

    The Ballroom is on an Irish tour now with Betamax Format and if i'm not mistaken they finish tour with a special Ballroom in Lower Deck on August 19th next which should be great
