    Hi,
Following my thread about returning a laptop, is there an easy way to back up files and registry information like the way I have XP set to w98 look and all that kind of thing. My thunderbird account is an essentail also.

Basically, a way to get all my chosen and desired info onto a new machine and not have all the crap that I don't need on it like programmes I installed but don't need any more etc etc.

    Thanks for any feedback:)

    in xp start/programs/accessories/systemtools/backup

Other wise open each application and save via there individual formats or my computer/c: and back up manually.

    To bckup your registry

start/run/ Type 'regedit' - save registry via it's export registry option. (exports a copy of your reg to my docs).
