Looking for some new cds but I want to try some new stuff....that I wouldn't have thought of trying myself.

So I ask everyone (this doesn't have to be just for me) to reccomend a good new album or to reccomend what they think is the best album and is worth listening to.

i dunno really but i tell anyone who hasnt heard them that

At the Drive-in - Relationship of Command

is quite possibly the best album ever made.

Recently a friend of mine gave me a copy of

    Mad At Gravity - Resonance

Very mellow stuff - hasnt been out of my CD player since, may not be everyones cup of tea but definately worth a listen IMO.

    Sample tracks available HERE

Yeah, 'Ive Got A Ticket To Ride Except For Me And My Lightning' is great, among others.

Try Mastodon - Leviathan. It took me a while to get into Mastodon, i formed the impression that they stuck in jazzy drumming just to be different, but they are really powerful sounding.

Well I don't know if you listen to them already, but if not, the new Nevermore album - "This Godless Endeavor" is supposed to be amazing.

I've resisted the urge to download it and have it pre-ordered with BlahDvd, but by all accounts its brilliant..

It got 10/10 in Terrorizer & anyone I know that has heard it thinks its great.

The Specials- The Specials (self-titled) for a bit of lovely chill out ska.

The Shins- Chutes Too Narrow is really catchy and slightly poppy but it too is excellent

As for metal i'll go with Amon Amarth- The Crusher

    Green Carnation

    Sikth

Theres two tracks to listen to on the site for a taster.

The first track,"Death of a dead day" is probably their most commercial track by far.

I`d click straight to track two,"Scent of the obscene".Its much more representative of what they are about. :)

    Death From Above 1979 - You're a Woman, I'm a Machine
This is just pure noise energy.

    Lordi - The Monster Show
Great horror themed rock band with crackin' melodies.

Shadows Fall - The War Within
    Powerful Stuff.

Rob Zombie - Past, Present & Future
Not really new but If you havnt listened to him before get this album. Fupping amazing.

High On Fire - Blessed Black Wings
    This blew my ass off!

    Green Carnation

Is that the name of the album or the band?

I'll reccommend One Kill Wonder by The Haunted.

That's the name of the band. Try the album "A Blessing In Disguise"

One Kill Wonder certainly isn't the best The Haunted have to offer. The Haunted Made Me Do It is easily their masterpeice, and it pisses all over One Kill...

    Get some Primus.

I am re-discovering them at the moment. What an utterly insane band.
    As for Les' playing..............no comment.

it all depends on what you listen to generally?
if you tell us yer fav. bands now we might be able to point you in the right direction. Green Carnation are damn good :) I'd also recommend Alarum if you can find them.

    Voivod - Nothingface

Kyuss - Welcome To Sky Valley
David Lee Roth - Eat Em And Smile
Flotsam And Jetsam - Doomsday For The Deceiver

Well i'd defo say Evanescence & Nightwish. Not sure if youz know of Nightwish, but they are soo good! All their songs are quite diff to the last too, making them better. And Tarja's voice is lovely.
Then i'd have to say Evanescence. Quite obviously bcoz; they rock!! I love them, best band in the world to me. And all their songs are wicked, on or off their albs. And i know many songs!
And then i'd say Good Charlotte and The Rasmus. If u judge TR by "In The Shadows" and don't like it, so u don't like them; you'r an idiot! (sorry, has to be said) But they're going for their 7th album, and all their tracks are brill. And GC are just great. No comments bout that, they just rock!!

Any and all Opeth, and the Eels are taking up a good bit of my listening time at the moment. I find them really interesting. Try their album, Beautiful Freak. Heavier stuff, try Mastodon.
