Yo, my name is Simon. I've played an electric guitar for 11 years and I'm pretty good at it ;)
I mostly play instrumental and progressive rock (Steve Vai, Dream Theater, Joe Satriani) and record on my comp 'coz I haven't got a band.
I am wondering if there's anyone with similar interests who would wish to form a band.

Here's links to the cover songs I recorded:

I am working on my own material now and there's plenty of it.

If u like my playing give me a shout:

Love the start of FTLOG :p

You definately have some talent. I'd love to hear some originals. It's easy (ish) to play other people's stuff. Coming up with your own is the challange ;)

FOTLOG? Backing track from Guitar Techniques a while back yeah?? Nice stealage! Nice playing though, fairly handy tune, love to hear some original stuff though, if ya got some post it up!

    Keep up the good work!

Oh yeah btw, what way did you record the guitar? you got a great sound.

Thanks for the good words lads.
I made the tracks myself in Cubase SX using MIDI and plugins. FTLOG is pretty straightforward (no stealage).
I already recorded a whole CD but it was a while ago and the quality isn't too good. Now that I have the equipment and knowledge I'll remix and master it (that takes some time).
I record with Line6 POD and Vox Tonelab, occasionally some plugins like Amplitube.

That's some excellent stuff GodISme, truly fantastic! And if I were a Dubliner I'd definetly be up for some playing. Anyway, I wish you luck with finding a decent band, you've got some talent. Not as much as me, but that can't be helped. :p

Seriously though, I wish you the best luck!
It's great to hear that kind of talent from our local stock.

    Hey folks.

I found a drummer with progressive rock influences.

Now we need a BASS PLAYER and KEYBOARD PLAYER.

Only experienced and technically very good people will be considered.
