Make a clickable index with MS Word?

Does anyone know how to make it so that the entries in the index of a Word document are interactive, and jump you to the correct page?
I'm not 100% sure it's possible, but if it's not, can anyone tell me how to activate this option in Adobe's PDF converter/Distiller?
I have a copy of a DOC file and the PDF file which was made from it, and the index-links are clickable only in the PDF, which is why I'm not sure if this is a Word or Acrobat configuration.

It's an Acrobat thing. As to how to do it, I'll leave that up to the help file or perhaps google :)

You will need to setup "styles" to create a table of contents within word. Its all fairly simple. If you click on F1 within word and then type TOC into search help, it will tell you how to do it

The TOC works fine, and is interactive in both Word and Acrobat. Index is static in both.
I'm pretty sure it's an Acrobat setting, though "index" has all sorts of different meanings in that.
