What do people think of these amps? I think they're one of the best modelling amps you can get for the price. The distortion from the thing is incredible. Clean's very very nice too. €400 for a 50 watt combo. Doesn't include the foot switch but I think any 2 switch foot switch would work.

I was only looking at these the other day. I don't know if I'd have much need for all the options on there. I was looking at one of the new made in China AC-30s. I was thinking of buying one of them.

Cover it with a Master Of Puppets flag then! Besides, you shouldn't have to look at it :p

Good call. You're right. I just get you to lug it up on stage for me, now that you're qualified and all ;)

They could've done a better job aesthetically, that's all I'm saying. Looks too much link an amp for 15 year old Metallers :D

Played one of those in Loop studios a couple of weeks ago. It sounded nice. There were a serious amount of effects on it though. It took me a while to turn the **** off. But it would be excellent for 400 euro.

but while we're on the subject....
what do people think of them two years on? Still a good choice? Still reliable?

They have them in musicmaker currently.

I have the Vox Tonelab. Super piece of kit. It's been broken for a while though(now fixed but I need to collect it) so I haven't put it through the Mesa to compare. I don't claim to be an expert on how accurate the reproductions are but the quality of each setting, I found to be very acceptable. The effects are pretty good too(IMO). It looks OK but sure you could change the grill to cloth quite easily I'd imagine.

Spend the extra 20 and go for the 212!

My little brother got one of these a while ago.. a long time ago anyway. The sounds available are great I think. I can get some great rock 'n' roll and rockabilly sounds out of it, but that's not much use to most of you is it?

The AC15 and AC30 settings sound savage when cranked too, a real early Rory sound.

    Awful build quality though, unfortunately.

It can depend on the ability of the player too. Ive seen the best equipment
(Deluxe US Strat + Orange amp) sound awful with an amateur and crappy equipment sound amazing with a pro.
